I'll get you there!

Travel Advice

Flights to Pisa airport run from Manchester every day except Wednesday and from Leeds Bradford on Tuesday and Saturday via www.Jet2.com

If you're flying from Birmingham you will have to get a flight from East Midlands via www.ryanair.com who fly twice a week. Please visit the site for further details and schedules.

From Norway you can fly from Oslo Gardermoen direct with Norwegian Air www.norwegian.com and if I remember rightly with the ice cream man hennig olsen from Kristiansand.

Anyone travelling from London can go from Heathrow with British Airways www.ba.com

If you are struggling to get availability from any of the airports above or locations not listed please make contact and we will do what we can to help you the best we can.

Car Rental can be a bit of a shag when you get to Pisa for the uninitiated but they are represented by all the usual suspects www.avis.com www.sixt.com www.europcar.com etc and availability is fairly good.
A shuttle bus runs from outside arrivals terminal but rather than wait with the masses you should get on your toes and walk around to the car rental base which is about 200m along the road to the right of exit to beat the queues.

Directions couldn't be easier. Exit the airport following the signs for the A12 in the directions of Rome and follow this road south for 40 minutes exiting at the signs for Donnaratico. Once you have come of the A12 you will follow directions to either castagneto carducci, castagneto marinara or cecina dependant on where you choose to sta.

PLAYLIST - Frank Sinatra - must be a Yorkshire thing! Helllllp!

Playlist

No Wedding would be worth its salt without the obligatory high kicking last chance saloon dance to Frank Sinatra's "My Way" as the lights come down so why not put your own stamp on proceedings and get to listen to a bit of what you fancy!!!!

Post your good, bad and ugly requests below to get em on the playlist for the evenings entertainment.

Accommodation Ideas

http://www.casavacanzelescuderie.it/

Myself and Dons stayed here with Bella and Grandad when scoping out the venue this year. Great location less than 3km from Castagneto Carducci (wedding venue) and Montepergoli (wedding breakfast).  Apartments come in 2 or 3 bedroom and ikea-tastic but great studio living areas and good sized bedrooms and bathrooms. As with us, if you're bringing kids and grandparents for childcare its an easy option as have a swimming pool on site and plenty of room to hide away if hangovers aren't your thing.

Again located 3km from Castagnetto and the Villa so ideally located for the venues we have chosen for the mian events. Comprising of 2 main villas, pink for the girls and white for the errr, non girls they have multiple options for however big or small your party. The white villa is split predominantly into double bed mezzanine suits which are suited for couples and the owner has stated he will be able to accomodate those who are looking to just come for a couple of nights rather than the full week. Each villa has its own pool one salt water for the adults with your own cabana (pic above), with the other pool being more child friendly. The Villas are in my opinion of a lower specification in terms of fittings and fixtures but ultimately very well kept and the owner is very friendly and also does a cracking own brand olive oil to boot.

For the luxurious amongst you the regions only 5star resort is the Tombolo Thalasso spa. With its own private beach and swim up pool its something you will not find readily in this part of Italy. Stay there at your peril as Dons will be about the day before the wedding for full pampering at is award winning day spa. We haven't stayed before but if you have the money or want to make it a week of relaxation and 5 star service get involved.

An alternative stay in a Hotels on the beach is the Alta Vista it has an excellent restaurant and the rooms  with the sea view are the best option if you are staying for the week but you need to book up quickly as with all the accomodation listed as they will be taken well in advance.

If outdoors is your bag then the area has a number of camping sites that are all well kept with excellent access to both the beaches and the venues selected for the wedding party. Personally I wouldn't go near a campsite if you paid me you boho outdour whores.

Finally you can rent your own villa or club together and go mental with a house rental. There are some amazing places to rent and every eventuality and requirement covered. From vine yard to beach views you have it all but you will be required to book Saturday to Saturday and will want a deposit upfront as they get booked quickly. Donna spent 3 months to find somewhere suitable this year for us to stay as there are so many agencies offering rentals. Start with www.homeaway.co.uk and get snooping but make sure to search catagneto carducci or bolgheri to get the right location.

Castillo De Gharadesca
http://www.castellodicastagneto.com/eng/galleria.php

Perched on the highest point in the hamlet of Castagnetto Carducci the castle offers a perfect marriage of real rustic italy with a touch of grandure.

Forget your Corleone's this castle is owned by the count and countess Gharardesca and still the family home of the oldest named nobilty in Italy.

We look forward to seeing you here for the main event and hope you love its laid back charm along with the stunning views across some of the super tuscan producing vineyards and the etruscan coastline.
